The fishing at Woodlay was established in 1977. There are 6 fishing lakes of different sizes set in beautiful, peaceful, deciduous woodland. Please click on the small thumbnail images above to see large, aerial pictures of Woodlay and the lakes.
- Spring Lake
- Valley Lake
- Deep Lake
- Lodgeside Lake
- Island Lake
- Woodland Lake
The three larger lakes contain the large Carp, the majority being double figures with a few over 20 lbs. These lakes also have Roach, Rudd, Tench and Bream. The fish caught are wonderfully fit and beautifully coloured.
The smaller lakes contain mainly Tench, Roach and Rudd and some large Carp as well as several hundred smaller Carp following restocking this year.
We are having some more large Carp delivered in October ready for next years fishing.

Though a novice angler, I enjoyed the fishing and caught lots of decent fish. In addition to the numerous carp I caught, all of which were in lovely condition, I was delighted to catch a very large Perch from the Island Lake. If anything, this fish was the most special as it evoked boyhood memories of the first fish I caught, even if it was an order of magnitude bigger in size! And we balanced the fishing nicely with days out exploring the north and south Cornish coast, and a couple of spectacular gardens. John
