Spring in Cornwall
We had a fantastic Spring at Woodlay! The primroses in April were beautiful and you could have enjoyed the Cornwall Spring Flower Show at Boconnoc. The bluebells in our woods were wonderful in May and you could have visited the Du Maurier festival in Fowey.
Why not book your fishing holiday early and come and enjoy some of this with us at Woodlay next year?
On 19th July the Lanhydrock Festival takes place with music and fireworks. We still have a few apartments available so come and fish and enjoy this and other festivals and events.
Fudge is growing
Our German shorthaired pointer is growing and now 5 months old. She stole some bait from an unsuspecting fisherman not realising there was a hook attached! After a trip to the vet we hope she has learnt her lesson.

Fishing News
Our big 21 and 23 lb carp are proving elusive to some but have been caught several times already this season. There have been some excellent fishing days for our guests and as well as catching beautiful coloured fish they are enjoying the warmth, sunshine and peace around our lakes. The trout in Spring and Deep lake have been fun to catch especially for the teenagers over half term. They lost count of the number they caught!
Wildlife and Animals
We continue to see deer from time to time and the highlight of the last couple of weeks have been the baby owls in our oak trees. The house martins are taking up residence again at the entrance to the Barn. We have had some dear little lambs and an Arab foal at Woodlay Farm.
